The Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation released a new report on the health status of Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay , following the surgery he underwent on Thursday, July 3. The medical center issued a report that provides grounds for optimism regarding the 39-year-old politician's recovery.
Uribe was the victim of an attack on June 7 in the Modelia neighborhood, west of Bogotá. The attack was carried out by a 15-year-old hitman, who was arrested on the day of the incident. In the following days, a woman and two men who were allegedly involved in the criminal operation were captured.
The presidential candidate was also hit by two bullets in the head and another in the leg.

The statement is as follows:
The Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation, at the family's request, reports that patient Miguel Uribe Turbay continues to receive multidisciplinary care in the Intensive Care Unit.
He presents stable hemodynamic conditions, with permanent mechanical ventilatory support, under sedation and neuromuscular relaxation, as indicated by his clinical condition.
In recent days, including today, the patient has required scheduled procedures that have allowed for the continuation of his therapeutic needs, with results that have favored his stability and progress.
His condition remains serious and his neurological prognosis is guarded.
The following health status updates will be issued in response to relevant clinical developments.

Senator Uribe returned to the operating room this Thursday, July 3, for another surgery to save his life after 25 days in a delicate state following the attack on his life.

The news of the new surgery was announced by the congressman's wife, María Claudia Tarazona. "Tomorrow (this Thursday) at 7 a.m., by the hand of God, supported by the Virgin Mary and with his army of angels and doctors, Miguel will take a small, big step, another step he must take to build his recovery," Tarazona wrote on her Instagram profile.
"I ask you with humility and deep gratitude, let us join together in prayer for all to go well. You are our strength; we feel your love and your prayers. Once again, we need you."
"Love keeps him alive!" concluded the senator's wife, who has not left his side since the day of the attempted murder.
However, Tarazona did not specify what the new surgery entailed, nor who will lead it. Last week, the politician underwent a tracheostomy and a tracheostomy, procedures intended to improve his delicate health .
